Established in 1921, Shanghai Transformer Work Co., Ltd. (STW for short, formerly Shanghai Transformer Factory) is the earliest factory specialized in manufacturing transformers in China, having ever created many national firsts. It has ever cooperated with such world—renowned enterprises as ABB (Switzerland) and Alstom (France) to jointly establish corporations. As a leading factory for manufacture and standard of medium and small—sized transformers in China, it is a national key backbone enterprise, a hi—tech enterprise in Shanghai, an excellent factory for key projects in Shanghai, as well as a civilized unit in Shanghai.
Having integrated almost 100—year experience and technology in research and manufacture of transformers, STW has the capacity of producing transformers of 220 KV level. With advanced equipment, comprehensive testing, creative management mode and strong research and development capability, STW attaches great importance to the design concept of energy saving and environmental protection, and strictly execute IS09001 Quality Management System in standardized production of each product. Currently, STW has already had large production bases and research and development centers established in Shanghai, Jiang su and Chongqing.
Main products of STW: amorphous alloy, dry—type, oil immersed, rectifying, wind power, mining, and underground box—type transformer stations, with the products involving 50 series, over 800 categories and over 3,000 specifications. Throughout the years, STW has been playing a significant role in the national economic construction and key engineering construction, and has provided a great number of excellent products for the State Grid, petrochemical industry, metal production, coal—fired power and hydropower, wind power, nuclear power, shipbuilding, bridge construction, and construction of municipal works etc., with many of its products exported to over twenty countries and regions, including Iran, Indonesia, New Zealand and Pakistan.
